How to make Tasty Coconut Multigrain Rice:
Ingredients:
1 Cup of Brown rice / White rice / mix both
1 Cup of Multigrains
1 Teaspoon of Himalayan salt
1.5 Tablespoons of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon of Toasted Black Sesame Oil
2 Teaspoons of Beer Can Chicken Seasonings (I use Weber)
Mix 5-10 different grains. Brown rice, brown sweet rice, black rice, purple rice, wild rice, red lentil, amaranth, and tri-colored quinoa. We do not add them but just pick some that are convenient for you. It would be great to mix with plain white rice because white rice gives a nice smooth texture and has a stickiness that other grains lack. It is good for small kids or seniors.
For cooking MIXED GRAINS in a RICE COOKER, the grain-water ratio is
1 part of multigrain & 1.5 parts of water.
Grains:Water =1:1.5
Examples:
2 Cups grains -> 3 Cups water
3 Cups grains -> 4.5 Cups water
4 Cups grains -> 6 Cups water
** If you use 1 cup of white rice, then the water would be
1 Cup white rice with 1 cup of water + 1 Cup of multigrain with 1.5 Cup water
Mix the grains and wash them in a bowl. I do not suggest washing in the rice cooker pot as most of us are using a non-stick coating pot, in order to keep the coating well, please wash the grains in another bowl. Then, we can start to cook after putting the grains, water, Himalayan salt, beer can of chicken seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of extra virgin coconut oil in the rice cooker.
You will be amazed by the very good aroma of the grains and the natural seasoning while the grains cook. Just add the rest extra virgin coconut oil, and toasted black sesame oil to the cooked rice then stir well with a wooden or silicon serving spoon. Then the super tasty coconut multigrain rice would be served.
